Hello guys,
I have right now i9 7960x and wondering did it worth to upgrade to i9 10980xe.
I know that diference is very small and that is the reason to migrate to Threatreapper next year.
What is your advice there ?
 
There are half a dozen threads on this forum about the 10980xe and how it has never been in stock in any shop since it has been announced, so good luck finding one to begin with.

I would not do it for just 2 extra cores unless you realy, realy need the cores and can buy it as a business expense, even more so since you talk about migrating to threadripper next year.

I guess you're planning on going to Threadripper 4? I say just wait, or upgrade to a Threadripper 3 now if you need it that badly.

If you go to the 10980XE, if you can even find one, you'll gain two cores. If you go to a Threadripper, you'll gain at least 32, for roughly the same price.
