I875 Vs 925xe

It would depend on a lot more then the chipset. If you're building a new system from the ground up I would go with the 925XE chipset or wait for the 945 chipset which I believe is going to debut in Q2 2005.

well i was gunna buy a shuttle with a I875 chipset, that had LGA775 socket, with AGP 8X.

The i875P chipset is a good one, but it has none of the newer features such as PCI-Express and so on. If your not interested in such things I wouldn't worry about it. I'd get the i875P. Although your upgrade path will be more limited.

As far as the i925XE goes, it's largest speed advantage comes from 1066MHz FSB support. That's about it. I've overclocked my CPU by switching the multiplier down and setting the bus to 1066 instead of 800. Other than that they are about the same speed.

Unless you go for an extreme edition P4 which costs $$$$$$$ or OC as Sir Frag did
the higher FSB is kinda wasted for now. I have a 925XE on an ABIT board for future
use (hopefully).
