i7 Overclock with Noctua

I recently bought a noctua nh-u12p se2 for my i7 920, and just now got around using it because of my recent case purchase. I've been experimenting with oveclocking, and i'm getting some wierd things...
First off, my ram is supposed to be 1333 mhz, but i've successfully gotten it up to 1600 mhz with no problems,and it can't go higher than that(Just some random info I guess)

Heres the wierd thing, when I installed the noctua, I started off with a 3.3 ghz overclock, because my evga board has dummy overclock, which is simple as hell and works. With dummy overclock(3.3ghz) I got about 41-45 degree idles and around 85 degree load(using core Damage) I thought these seemed kind of high, and a huge jump, I had some worried that it didn't fit in my case right(I thought a fan was pushing it, because they were really close, but I just now see that they don't actually touch, they're practically a perfect fit) so I think contact is fine...regardless, I thought i'd push it. I'm currently at a 3.8 ghz overclock, with my RAM running at 1400 or something...an odd number that the mobo chooses for me(the next higher is 1800 something, but thats not stable at all, won't even post) And when I run core damage on this clock I get an idel of around 40, and a max of about 75...which is very strange to me...so I have some questions.

1.Do you think dummy overclock set the vcore higher, resulting in overall higher temps?(I'm kind of a noob to overclocking, so this is a guess)
2.Do you think this seems adequate for a CPU cooler like this? It seems pretty decent to me...but I'd like other opinions.
3. Why would the temps go down with a higher overclock in the first place?
4. Should I take my CPU fan off of my Fan controller and let the mobo do its thing? Or does it not matter as long as I turn up the fan if I'm using it more?
4. Is there anything more I should do to really try and test whats happening?

Again, its stable, core damage has been running for a while and temps are stable at 75...these are all average CORE temps by the way.

I'd just like some reassurance and some help...thanks a ton!
