Actually, probably more of a CPU-Z question. I'm trying to get the rig in my sig stable at 5.0Ghz, (currently running win7 at 50 multi setting in BIOS as I type this) but CPU-Z is reporting that it's running at 4.9Ghz with a 49x multi. What up with this? Is CPU-Z incorrect? Or worse, is it correct?

Bonus question, is 1.405v a safe voltage in the long run? I know "safe" is in the eye of the overclocker, but still...

EIST and C1E are disabled.

Also, at 4.8Ghz running Prime95, the multiplier gets put down to 46.

TL;DR, I can't load my OC'D CPU without it reducing the multiplier. All power saving options I know of are turned off in BIOS.

I personally would try to keep voltage at 1.3 or 1.35 or lower, but that highly depends on your cooling. General consensus is that temps are much more important than voltage.

Also, it seems like some other members are having problems with degradation with that high of a voltage. Apparently he went from 5.0 ghz stable when he initially got it a few months ago to 4.8 ghz stable now at the same voltage, not exactly sure what his voltage was. I believe he kept the chip around 80 C or less, if I can find his post I'll link it, or he can post here.

Not too sure what's going on with your CPU-Z, have you tried OCCT?

Currently OC'd to 4.5Ghz, NOT getting weird multiplier fluctuations at 1.350v. Perhaps I was giving her too much juice?

Temps are ~73C with Prime running.

Had to go to 1.365v just to get 4.6 stable(ish).

I never get a good OCer... Should I be disabling HT or something?
