i7 cooling help

I need help finding a cooler for my upcoming i7 build. I do NOT want the best i7 cooler, but I want a fairly cheap one that still gives very good cooling performance. I also don't want a very heavy cooler resting on my motherboard. In addition, I don't want it to be huge either. I am completely open to suggestions, and I have no idea what I should choose.
 
Check out the Cogage TRUE Spirit. Great performance, but is smaller, lighter, and cheaper than its big brother the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. However, that is not to say that it is a small heatsink either. It is one of the best performing coolers out there for the price.

The only thing is that whether you go with a 1156 or 1366 I7, you will want to also purchase the appropriate thermalright bolt through kit. It will secure the TRUE Spirit much better than the included push pins.

There is also the Corsair H50, which will probably run you around twice what the other two will, but also performs great and definitely won't take up a lot of space.

I am going to use a 1366 i7

I heard great thinga about the H50, but it is a little to expensive for a CPU cooler, IMO
 
IMO there aren't a whole lot of other options right now. I mean, there are, but why would you go with a worse cooler for more money. It just sort of comes down to what you want to spend. You can get the Cogage for $35 plus shipping from SVC which is an amazing deal. I doubt very much that you will find better performance for less money. In fact, whenever Hard does heatsink tests they compare how well a heatsink cools as compared to how much that performance is costing you. Lately the Cogage has won every time.

Are there better coolers than the Cogage? Yes, but they will cost more and be bigger, bulkier, and heavier, which is something that you said you didn't want.

Take a look at the reviews that I linked to. They will give you a decent idea of what the top performers are right now.
 
From the reviews I have seen of the hyper 212+.. it really isn't that good of a cooler at all.

And I picked one up for $50, you don't pay at least that you should just stay with the stock cooler.

I would rather spend $50 and get something that is way better and could run fan less with better performance
