i7 920 overclocking help

Current setup:

i7 920 @ 3.6ghz
EVGA X58 3x SLI motherboard.
Corsair DDR3-1333 Memory 9-9-9-24 running @ 1600mhz
Corsair H50-1 Water Cooler
Thermaltake BW 550w Power Supply

The question I have is that I believe this setup will go further but I'm not familiar with what settings I should be using to push it.

Currently I have:

VCore - 1.35v
Dimm Voltage - 1.5v
CPU PLL Core - 1.5v
QPI PLL Core - 1.1v
IOH Vcore - 1.1v
CPU VTT - 1.1v
ICH Vcore - 1.05v
QPI - 190
Multiplier - 20

Now, at 3.6ghz this setup is stable but when I put the bclk up to 200mhz (for 4.0ghz) and the Vcore @ 1.4v it doesn't even load windows just restarts during loading.

The temps @ 3.6 are 30 degrees Celcius at idle and around 35-45 depending on what I'm doing. It will run prime95 64-bit for 24 hours without crashing and the temps during that are about 60-65 celcius.

I know there used to be a chart in these forums for the older C2D processors and the settings people used to get them to a certain speeds but I can hardly find anything on the i7 processors.

If anyone has some suggestions or ideas. Thank you.

Well with 920s is not quite that easy.
Even if you have a D0 like I do, not all work the same way.

First are you using Turbo?
Do you have HT on?

One thing I noticed with mine is it hates multiplier 20.
I can do 4.1Ghz (very close to getting 4.2 already priming an hour) as long as I use multi 19 or better yet 21 (by using the Turbo option).
If I try to use multi 20 best I could do was 3.9Ghz.
So, my recommendation is to use Turbo so you get multi 21 then do not jump 400Mhz all at once...check for 3.8 or even 3.9 first...I know we all want to get there fast but trust me it is best like this.
I was stuck at 3.7 right away and moving from 3.9Ghz was a pain and really got me thinking that was it for the chip but changing to x21 got me to 4.1Ghz now prime stable and loving it.
Also increase voltage on VTT as well.
The normal rule is if you get a 101 BSOD then it is vcore related, if you get a 124 then it is VTT and if you get a x09 or similar it is also vcore.
There are nice guides in the evga forum btw.

Thank you for the reply, I disabled Turbo mode since a few websites including the evga forums (atleast one thread) said to disable it. I'll see what I can do.
 
Again, it is a matter of the chip but the guides I have seen most of them show the steps with and without it.
What you need to disable is all the speed step thingys and all that though.
 
Well, I have tried different setups from the evga forums and I can't seem to budge off 3.7ghz. I know this processor has more in it although I cannot find the stepping on the box (does not list anything under Batch#) and the evga tool does not say either.
 
Instead of copying setups user their guide on how to do it on your own.
Every chip is different so only way to get there is by doing it the right way. ;)
 
Ok, well do you have any idea on my stepping. the Evga tool actually says "Stepping 5", unlike the C0,D0 that i've seen floating around.
 
C0 stepping is SLBCH
D0 stepping is SLBEJ


The one below is a D0. You can tell by where it says S-spec: SLBEJ

Well, the gd evga x58 board I had wouldn't power up today after swapping into my new antec 902 case. Would power up with the 8-pin connector not connected, but wouldnt post. With the 8-pin connector plugged in, the reset light on the mobo would flash for half a second and it wouldn't even turn on.

According to the evga tech guy, he thinks the motherboard is faulty as I tried everything I had. PSU, Memory, clearing cmos manually, reseating everything. Oh well. I ordered an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 to take its place. Just weird it ran for 3 days just fine.
