Alright, I have an i7 920 computer (in sig) that I want to overclock just a tad to 3.2 ghz. Currently at 100% cpu for over an hour, the temps are hitting 70C across all cores. I would like to keep the on load temps below 100C, if not 90C. Anyone help me out?

What? 70C at 2.67 or 3.2? And what do you want help with? 70C is below 100C, if not 90C.

70C at 2.67. Is that too hot? The main problem is I have never overclocked before, so I have no idea what to change. I tried raising BCLK up, but I got lots of errors in prime 95, so I'm not sure what to do now. It seems like 70C is pretty hot for stock load, but I'm not sure why it's running that hot. The inside of the case is rather cool, and the GPU is running around 60C idle and 65C load (minor OC.) Is the V8 cooler not working correctly? I'm not sure if I should remount it, but since it screws in underneath the motherboard, I'm pretty sure that it would take me all day just to get it out and put it back in with new paste =/

I overclocked my i7-920 a week ago. Was first time overclocking core i7 for me, though I have overclocked all the PCs I've built before P4, core2duo, etc..

I would recommend reading through it if you've never overclocked before, and then googling different stuff from there to get more info.
My CPU was running at 88C full load @ 4.1ghz, but now i got it down to 75C full load by switching to corsair obsidian case, and resitting the heatsink with arctic silver ceramique (I did a real crappy job installing the HS the first time, when I took it off the thermal compound was clumped up all over the place). This is using zalman CNPS10X extreme cooler

Hmm, this is embarrassing to say but, I think I may have put the V8 on upside down. I hadn't noticed before, because the actual instructions show it in the exact same orientation as it is at the moment. Is it possible to remount it without taking out the entire motherboard or does this largely depend on the type of case?

This would be determined by the case. i.e. My Cogage TRUE Sprit can be flipped around without removing the mobo.
I might fool with that in a bit then, but I'll have to wait until the weekend. I set BLCK to 157, and memory to around 1597 mhz, and I'm getting 74-75C on load now. Is this a good enough temperature for now, or should I play it safe and stay at stock?
