Right now, I am getting about a 7-8 degree difference between my hottest core and my coolest core. Does this sound right? I've remounted the HSF 3 times now, the last time making absolutely sure the HSF didn't twist at all when being screwed down.

This is using Real Temp to monitor the temps, if that makes any difference.

Fine and normal.

There's often a spread like that, and it's usually core 0 which is hottest, while core 3 is the coolest. Don't overstress about mounting and remounting. Make sure to note though, when stability testing, you want to consider the highest core temperature to be absolutely safe.
