Recently got a decent watercooling setup with a 3x120mm rad so i've been wanting to get as high as i can, i assumed i had a decent chip as i could get 3.8ghz @ 1.218v (1.209 in cpuz after vdrop, I7 920) but i tried for maybe 30mins to get 4ghz+ and it needed alot of cpu volts to get posting without hanging 1.3v+.

Anyway just got new bios for asus p6t 1201 amd read up quickly about other bios settings as i hadn't really looked at due to true120 not being acceptable temp wise above what i was pushing.

Upped pll to 1.9, qpi 1.3 (was 1.325 when i was trying before so lower), adjusted uclk settings and qpiclk accordingly and was able to achieve 4ghz @ 1.26v in bios (1.248 cpu-z after vdrop)

Didn't adjust any other settings apart from cpu amp - 800mv and speedstep c1e off, this is 4ghz with HT btw.

Will try higher later and might be able to even drop cpu volts as first thing i tried was 1.26v lol, worked 1st time :), seems like a decent chip.

Right now idling @ 31c - 36c (hottest core), didn't see it go over 60/61c last night doing normal stuff, music plus gaming same time.
