Hello,

1. I reset the BIOS settings to default.
2. Then I set the multiplayer to 42 so that I should get 4.2 GHz.
3. But nothing happens. The CPU clock stays at defalut 3.4 GHz. Why?

Pics of BIOS setting and CPU-Z:

I would pull the cmos battery out & leave it out for a few hours or 12+hrs overnight, then try again. Also check your bios version, update if needed.

something its definitely wrong with that CPU, as the CPU-Z read it as 2 cores 4 thread CPU. but also the voltage its high for that speed and appear to be that speedstep its off.. can you post a screen shot of the CPU power management Section of the BIOS?. also agreed with above pull out the battery and update the BIOS..

Your heatsink may be on too tight, if I recall correctly there are pin contact issues with socket 1155 when the heatsinks are on too tight that cause something like this where CPU's don't report correctly etc.

So, are you gonna try and update your BIOS and reseat your CPU as per the above suggestions, or what?

Ai Tweaker/Turbo Ratio = By All Cores, 43
Ai Tweaker/CPU Power Management/CPU Ratio = 43
Advanced/CPU Configuration/CPU Ratio = 43

Still no overclocking... (and still 2 cores only...)

LOLZ^2...

Problem solved.
The "Number of processors" setting in "msconfig.exe->Boot->Advanced options" was set to 4. I unchecked the setting and bang, I have 4 cores (8 threads) and 4.3 GHz core speed....

Thank you.
