i5 750 Overclock help

I'm planning on buying a new video card soon and slowly piece together a new system so I wanted to get a little more mileage out of my current cpu. I would appreciate any advice as to how I should go about overclocking it. Right now it has a stock cooler and has never been overclocked.
 
Well if you have an ASUS board you can set the multiplier to 21 and bus speed to 180 and get an easy 3.8 with these settings.

set the memory to the lowest multiplier

1.3250 Vcore
1.1500 IMC/VTT
PLL Auto
PCH Auto

you may need to change the cooler, don't listen to anybody saying you need more than 1.15 vtt I can achieve 4Ghz with this voltage and 8gb of ram.
 
I just sold my i5 750 and it would easly do 4.0 with a H50 corsair cooler. I had mine running at 3.78ghz I belive to match the 1866 memory I was running.. They are really good over clocker's. I think I was able to hit 3.4ghz on the stock cooler.
 
I am running on an ASUS board, I've never overclocked a CPU before, seemed like now was as good of time as any to start. So ram plays a factor in how high you can oc? I'm currently running 4 gigs, can't remember at what speed I'd have to check later.
