I'm wondering, when Intel say the max Vcore for the i5 750 is 1.4V, does that mean I should avoid setting it higher than 1.4, or does that mean I should avoid setting it so high that the BIOS reads greater than 1.4? Because when I set it at 1.4V, when I reboot and go back into the BIOS, it reports it running at 1.376V (or 1.372, I dont remember). Likewise once the computer boots up, CPU-Z reads 1.376 as well and drops a bit under load.
Does this mean I can push it a bit further, or would it be dangerous to set higher than 1.4V in the BIOS even if it reads only 1.376V (fluctuations and stuff I suppose).
It'll run at 4GHz at that voltage, but if I could push the voltage a bit further I'm sure it could reach beyond 4GHz, as the load temperatures are only 66C.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, my board is a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 with a Coolermaster Silent ProM 600W and an ATI 4870 512mb. CPU is running a Megahalems.
