i am pasting this here becuase Its all about the processor, just want to know if anyone has played with this yet, in a laptop. If so whats some views on it, and on the technology.

I understand what yoru saying about the architecture and how the processor works, i was just wondering if anyone has played with this at all.

It's called the Intel® Core™ i7 Mobile Processor I7-720QM.

http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLBLY

It has a default multiplier of 12 so is rated at 1.60 GHz (12x133 MHz). This chip has 9 bins of turbo boost available so when only a single core is in the active state and the other 3 cores are in the inactive C3/C6 sleep state, the multiplier can jump up to as high as 21 which increases the speed on the one active core up to 2.80 GHz. As more cores become active, the speed will drop down. When all 4 cores are in the active state the maximum multiplier with turbo boost enabled is 13. Too much heat or current going through the CPU can disable the turbo boost feature when 4 cores are active so you might only end up with 12.

Wonderful technology in theory but depending on what applications you run, it might be a little too hot for your lap. If battery life is important to you then you might want to consider getting a Core 2 Duo mobile processor instead.
