Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to overclocking. I recently bought a new system built on a i5-2500k, MSI P67A-GD65. I just received my new cooler I ordered, a Corsair A70. So I figured, better get into overclocking the baby!!
Everything is working fine right now. The only question I have is about the temperature of my CPU. I've tried searching the net to find out what is the comfortable temperature margin for this CPU and people seem to have different ideas on that. I'm currently running it at 4.5ghz with a VCore of 1.28V. The max temp I got after 2h of Prime95 is 67C (with Real Temp GT and SpeedFan). Now, I want this overclock to be my everyday type of thing, something I can leave it at pretty much forever. For that reason, I don't wnat to stress my CPU temp to much, thus reducing it life.
For your info, I based my overclock on this guide: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/07/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/1
As I said, I'm new to this so I had to base myself on something!
Thanks for your help
Jeff
