Im going from a readynas pro 6 to something else, but not ATOM

Im getting it as a replacement so dont think i cant get a custom build machine.

Im looking at the netgear 516

But are there any other machines that transcode movies via plex to iDevices witout a strain i would consider them

6 slots are minimum, there is no maxumum but the expense is limited, i get to pay a small sum to get the 516 70EUR, and the 516 is cheaper than many other brands, about 1.1k EUR or 9.6k SEK

apart from transcoding id like to be able to set up a vpn with internet sharing, so i can acces my home internet (to avoid region restrictions and such while surfing)

Any ideas are appreciated.
