Is a i5-2410M (notebook) better than a i3-2120?

Just curious to see if my notebook processor outperforms my desktop one.

Thanks!

Yes the desktop Intel® Core™ i3-2120 is better unless you are talking about battery life, heat and performance when on battery. So it all comes down to what you are going to be doing and where.

I'd think that with a desktop you might not be so worried battery life. The i3 is a pretty low TDP anyways.

The mobile i5 is a dual core chip with HT unlike its desktop brother.

It's basically a mobilized desktop i3 w/ the Turbo function. Same cache sizes etc.

The desktop brother as in the desktop i5.

Yes, both mobile i3/i5 have HT.

Sorry for the confusing wordage ;)

I do some stuff on my Desktop that I could do on the notebook if it was faster, like encoding. Both feel smooth to me using ordinary stuff, but the mobile one is only a few days old, so I haven't got time to try heavier tasks on the notebook.

Thanks everyone!
