I want huge or really big ramsinks for my 9800pro. any ideas of a good heatsink to mod into ramsinks. or just really good ramsinks. link me plz.
Thanks for any help :p

i also bought some OCZ copper sinks....

just be sure to buy enough for all the ram modules(8 in all on a 128mb)
i only did one order of them thru SVC which is 4 sinks lol, so im waiting for the other 4 sinks to be shipped

rofl, check out afrotechs site, it is full of ghetto mods  , i guess the penny heatsinks wouldnt be too bad, afterall in my experiences ramsinks arent worth more than $10.

Someone tried that before and it killed his card. Don't even risk it.

How would pennies superglued onto RAM kill your card unless you are using conductive thermal paste and get some on the pins of the RAM (which isn't even possible with BGA ram which doesn't need heatsinks either).

:laughs at poor sap that would even try that:

:sees the sap that did it:

Or, you can spend a couple bucks and go to a hobbycraft store and get some half inch wide strip copper. Cut it up into pieces and bend into |_| or square shape. It does a half decent job.

Home depot also sells square hollow aluminum, which you can just cut and glue onto the ramsink, its a little more expensive, but is perfectly flat and only requires cutting and no bending.

He says that you need a mixture of thermal paste and superglue, if i were to do this i wud use some thermal epoxy

Heh yeah they are even more worthless on GDDR3 :p

I dunno, after a bit of OCing on my x800pro memory, while in game the memory is scortching hot! It burned my finger :( someday i will put ramsinks on it, after i get my WCing setup in my case (waiting on a couple more pieces :)
