Well, I finally heard yesterday that Rage3D Tweak has the ability to overclock locked 9500 Pro's, so I figured I'd give it a try. Started raising the clock up step by step and testing with 3D mark. I started to hit some artifacts and backed off. Decided to test my final settings out in UT...I noticed some artifacting right away so I quit out to clock the card down some more.

The desktop was corrupted. "No big deal" I think. So I restart...Still corrupted. Shit. I uninstall my drivers, use driver cleaner, reinstall. Still corrupted. Fuck. Uninstall drivers again, boot into windows...Default display driver works at 640x480. If I bring the resolution up any higher, the display corrupts.

I think I killed it.

System specs:
Abit IC7
P4 2.4C @ 3.3
1 GB ram
ATi 9500 PRO
SB Audigy 2 ZS

So...Anyone else ever encountered this before and have their card live to tell about it?

If not...I guess I need a new videocard. Rather than make another recommendation thread, I figure I'll just ask you guys. I have about $200 give or take $30 bucks to spend on a new card. I play a lot of UT, I play at 1280x1024 (Native res of monitor), I'd love to be able to play with details maxed with AA and AF on...Anyone have any reasonably priced suggestions? No 9800XT's, too rich for my blood (unless they can be had for $200 or so.)

Fuck. This sucks. Never, ever touching Rage 3D Tweak again. Not blaming the program, but I fucked up. ..

If the Core/mem settings were changed in the the cards BIOS not software.. Then you may need to manually lower it back down.

That was it! Thanks! I had to reflash the bios to a hacked version, and things are fine now.
