I had my 3000+ running at 2.2 ghz for about a month with no problems until I added a second monitor and it would restart while playing games and running virus scans. I figured it was a voltage issue so I tryed to raise the CPU voltage by .25 but it wouldn't POST so I was forced to lower the clock speed to 2.16 ghz. Then I realized how stupid I was and realized that I had Cool and Quiet enabled, so I went into BIOS, disabled Cool and Quiet, added .25 volts to the CPU and bumped it back up to 2.2 and ran F.E.A.R. for a bit with no system restarts. I just started running the Prime 95 Torture Test and hopefully Cool and Quiet was the source of my problems.

I always like a story with a happy ending. Congrats to getting to the root of the problem.

Cool and Quiet does not suck...I have a 600mhz o/c using stock voltage and i use it enabled and its perfect. It only becomes a problem when you change the multiplier in most cases. I have also raised voltage by .1 and it affects nothing to use c&q on a decent board.

yeah it can be usefull but it can also add some unneeded problems if not carefull
