i think i clipped my headphones

okay so i think i clipped my headphones (SRH750DJ)

i plugged it in the jack of my m audio AV40 and whenever i turn it off the speakers usually pop so last night i turned it off and noticed it didnt pop so i turned it on again and checked my headphones if it made a popping noise if i turned the speakers off. I was greeted with a hard clunk sound as if the drivers hit something. is this bad? should i RMA it? return it to frys or what?

so far its fine. no distortion or any funky sounds that i should be concerned about. i just need advice on what to do.

If the sound fine, they probably are, but DO NOT repeat the action. The drivers probably bottomed out, and that can destroy them.
