Last couple threads i made went un-answered so I am REALLY hoping you all will help me. All this IPS, S PVA, MVA etc. is really confusing when taking account the exceptions. I just need to know what is the best for Doom engine, Cryengine and Oblivion gaming goodness for about or under 350 bucks, birthdays on the first and i need to figure out what i need before then.

What would you get?? I thought about vx2025wm-supposedly DVI probs and no 1:1.
I have only one 7900GT now as I am slowly selling parts for new build so keep that in consideration if it applies here.

PLEASE HELP ME FELLAS!

Thanks :)

It's big NFL football Sunday so its probably quiet. I am not a gamer but since this was going off page I will say I have seen people who play games like all the different monitor types but I have seen Oblivion enthusiasts like the Dell S-IPS for that price. It's true 8 bit and faster than the 16 ms Dell lists (they listed that because they knew they might switch in slower panels now and again). Of course the issues with Dells are numerous and it's a crap shoot - but at this time they seem to be sending S-IPS and not S-PVA - and its been around $360 with shipping included.

Have you looked at Widescreen Gaming Forum? It seems to me this forum here gets a lot of people "shopping" for monitors and the people don't always have anything to say being in the hunt still themselves.

I just bought a Chimei CMV221D-NBC 22" Widescreen LCD - Black from microcenter newegg also has them. IMHO its an awesome monitor. Is 1680x 1050 native resolution. Has decent color capability. No ghosting in games so far(5ms response time). Very minimal back light bleed(almost nonexistant but there is some). Crappy stand but its adequate barely(will probably get something else soon). No dead/stuck pixels on mine. Lower price compared to other brands at 289.99 at micro 299.99 at egg.

Ahhh, thankyou ! I figured this post would go un-answered like all my oithers :p I appreciate your response and I suppose i switch my choice over to S-IPS. Also Illl check that forum. Thanks man!

Kodan, you got any pics of that monitor in games? We happen to have a Microcenter real close to me so I may check it out, although you know they wont load anything on it for me to see that why i ask about the pics. Let me see 'em if you got 'em :D

What does everyone think of the Acer AL2216Wbd? Ive seen nothing but good about it. Any negatives?
