I/O Device Error

Lately ive been messing around by using a machine at my apt. as a server. I have 3 external USB drives connected to it.
250GB
80 GB
80GB

I had these running on win2k and was able to reconize the 250 right on boot, but had problems pulling the two 80s. It recognized them as devices, but when pulling up the drives, they would not show under disk management.

I now have recently installed win xp sp2... and now the issue is.. it sees all drives, i can still get the 250 with no problem, but the two 80s show under disk managment. The problem lays in, when i try to manage them or open them (they have files) it pops an error "I/O device error"

Can anyone lead me to resolve this?

Sounds like conflicting resources. Did you go into the bios and check if its detected by the bios?

Acutally havent done too much. But i can check on this when i get out of work. Im sure its detected in BIOS though. Once on windows, im able to disconnect and reconnect since its USB... and its recognized... as a device and harddrive, but i cant explore the files. If i pull up properties, itll show my disk as full.

Anyway, once in BIOS, what would/should i be looking for?

I just rolled back the drivers to a microsoft standard driver, and took off the 3rd party one they had.
Works.
