Alright guys im looking for a super cheap case! shippin included in the price. Can you please find me one? or point me in the right direction. i would prefer eveyrthing to be under 30$ or 25$. Thanks
 
not shure where u live but if you look up local coputer recyling places theres prolly one in your area u can usually grab an empty case from them for close to nothing then just mod it to make it look like a $100 case
 
go to new egg and buy the cheapist one. or go to your local comp store buy their most ghetto case. or to be really cheap, go to the local thrift store and buy some old crap machine and swap all the parts.

May I recommend you don't get the cheepest case you can? Most of them are of EXTREMELY poor build quality and you run into all sorts of problems, the one that makes me the maddest is strippling screws, you can't really even get them tight because it takes almost nothing to over tighten the screws. It's up to you, there are some cheep cases out there that are really good but then some are crap.
 
If "cheap" is the operative word then go to a thrift store or go dumpster diving. (or even yard sales)
 
If you're really looking for the cheapest case, how about free? C'mon over, help me clean out my basement and I'll give you 2 or 3 of the Compaq/HP cases I've got sitting in my basement from people who've given me their computers and told me "upgrade it".
 
A decent case these days will be between $80-$100 IMHO....For a good case like over $200 ...that's me.

What give you that idea, Antec makes some REALLY nice cases in the sub-100$ range and even includes a half-decent PSU with some of them.

You can find decent cases that get the job done under $50. I've had an evercase for three years now, for $25 at the time from newegg it's done more than adequate. It looks good, all of my drives and my motherboard fit perfect. Steel, so it's sturdy, and I have never had any problems stripping screws, all I have to do is move some tabs and the side comes right off. Being in college, this case has been moved from dorm room to dorm room, home to college probably 12-15 times, and I've carted it to lan parties. It's still holding strong. That $150 difference can actually go to something else useful in a system.
 
Yeah, I picked up a nice Super Flower case over at Directron , for a friend's son's computer build, and it cost me just over $60 shipped. Since I live in TX, they had to add ~5 in tax, so figure less than $60 for anyone outside TX.
Granted, it was a somewhat gaudy spiderman style case, but that price included a 350watt power supply, and the case has great cooling with 120mm fans front and back. :)

As far as super cheap cases go, the cheapest I'm seeing right now is ~$25 on pricewatch (go search for it yourself, if ya don't mind, since I'm just feeling too lazy to link it myself ;) ). Granted, you won't get anything decent, and if it has a power supply in it, I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it, but it will be a functional case. There's plenty out there for ~$35 to $40 price range, shipped, that are plenty good quality. Check the hot deals forum section here, or look up "case" in the search feature over at Ben's bargains , or even at the Anandtech hot deals forum (linked from Ben's, if you don't know where to find that).

I'd strongly suggest you get just a case for your price limit, without a power supply. If you're getting one with a power supply, you're not going to be able to safely run a modern system in it, cuz the power supply is going to be garbage! Trust me, I know.....I've replaced my share of crummy Powmax power supplies that friends thought they could get away with (one guy got lucky, and didn't lose anything when his p/s went out.....another guy lost his $90 video card). In fact, I wouldn't suggest running anything faster than a 1ghz system on a cheap power supply, with a minimum of items running off of it. Again, experience, ya know??

Oh yeah, Amamax has a decent selection of cases, all with free shipping. :D

Hey, Athenatech makes some so-so cases for cheap. I read a bunch of reviews that were lets say, not great, but at least they said would make a good starter case or mainstream. Some of them have LCDs with fan speed and temp also.

After the build, a general purpose computer only has to handle the strain of inserting floppys, cd's, and usb plugs. Cheap is cheap and thats okay for some.
