I need some suggestions about which processor to buy

Here is the thing, i could either get a P4 550 or Pentium D 820 with a respective motherboard to go with it (my friends got some deal through his work).

Im torn between the two because they seem pretty comparable.

All i do is mostly game, internet, burn DVDS, and do very litle video editing (once in a blue moon). So which one do you suggest? He said go with the 550 but i would like to think the newer processor is better since it is dual-core.
 
Dualcore will only help you with video editing.
For games, the 550 should be faster.
For internet and DVD burning, it doesn't matter.
One thing I dislike about the 550 is that it's not 64-bit, so it's not that futureproof. If it was a 650, I'd recommend it hands-down. Now I'm not too sure.
 
Although there is no use for 64bit processors yet, I recommend to anybody asking to buy a 600 series P4 now.
