Alright, so I will be getting the following components:
- Intel i7 920
- GTX 260 (2 x in SLI)
- Asus P6T Deluxe v2
- 6 gb xms3 (non dominator) ddr3 1600
- ocz vertez 120
- WD caviar black 1 TB
- maybe later a caviar green 1TB
- corsair hx850
- I plan to cool CPU with the Noctua NH-U12P se1366, and I would like an overclock to 3.6-3.8
anywho...requirements for a case are the following:
- window
- good cooling
- most important : easy cable management
- I had a computer with LED fans...and I'm bored...so if the case has LEDs, I will change fans
- black
- simple design that is not too over the top (i.e. HAF 932, or most coolermasters - not insulting the cases, just not my look)
- as silent as i can get, while still running an oc'ed cpu and dual gpus (reasonably...)
alright, so I was really into the silverstones tj-09 and tj-10, but the cable management sucks, so that's out of the question.
to be honest, I have looked at every single case, and cannot find many that looks good to me (i.e. fits all the criteria). I am left with 2 nice alternatives:
- silverston ft-01
- antec 1200
I am trying to determine if I can run dual GPUs and an overclocked CPU with the FT-01, as there doesn't seem to be much cooling from 3 fans, and I can't really replace the 2 180mm fans with faster ones (they don't exist!). on the other hand, I have read that the cooling on the ft-01 is pretty close to that of the 1200. the 1200 to me, is not the nicest looking case, and it seems that it is very loud. If i would go with this option, i would definitely change the fans to some noctuas (but would the fans still be adjustable with the case switches?)..
lastly, another option is the new corsair 800d, but the thing is...i'm sorry but I really REALLY do not see this case having very good air circulation with only the bottom being open for intake...i believe it's truly designed around their new "watercooling" cpu cooler (H-50)
what do you guys think...any opinions are appreciated. I am personally more swayed towards the ft-01 at the moment
