I'm looking to buy a 512MB stick of ram for my laptop and i found a decent deal at the local Circuit City and I'm VERY VERY close to just going out and getting it, as opposed to ordering a stick from Crucial and wait a few days for it to get here.

Here is the link:

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with or knowledge of Centon memory. The reviews on Circuit City's website are all good, but id like to know what the [H] thinks.

I found comparable memory at crucial.com for roughly the same price, so that also factors into my decision.

Also, I currently have 256MB of ram in my laptop(64MB of which is stolen by the video card... will I see a noticeable increase in performance/FPS in games/apps/multitasking?

Thanks in advance. :)

Get it from Crucial. You won't regret it.

Waiting a day is VERY much worth the extra quality reliability and warranty.

definitely order from crucial and in my experience they have the quickest shipping of any company. ive ordered memory from them in the afternoon and recieved it the next day in the afternoon. they ship for free and use fast shipping as well.

no-name memory is REALLY hit and miss. Go with Crucial, 2 extra days won't hurt.

Most of the RAM in stores I wouldn't touch. Simpletech, Centon, KByte. Ack.

Trust us and go Crucial. Better to wait a couple days for quality RAM than buying RAM that could be crap.
