I've been playing BF2 and I've come to realize that I need more RAM. Right now I have to sticks of 256 or something to make 512 I guess.

Should I buy 2 sticks of 512 to make it 1.5 or just take out the old ones and just make it 1?

Should I stay with the same brand I have? Corsair?

check your mobo manual make sure you can fill up all dimms..........1.5 gigs would be great, but 1 will be good too, and yes stick with same brand if you can

I lost my manual..... :(

Google your motherboard model (it is usually printed on the board itself) and the manual can easily be found as a PDF document.

I would highly suggest 1.5 GB for BF2, as 1 GB isn't quite as smooth. The extra ram also reduces load times.

Eek!

It says "You may install 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1G DDR DIMMs into the DIMM sockets using the memory configurations in this section."

Does that mean I can only have a maximum of 1GB of memoy?

No. It means the largest single size dimm that you may use is 1GB. You don't really need to worry, though, as I have not seen any 2 GB DIMMs on the market (not that they do not exist).

Somewhere it should tell you your maximum memory altogether. Usually it is 2-3 GB.

ya that sounds like good ram, several of my friends have Corsair and have have had no problems with it, I would stick with that

Excellent ram right there. I actually brought that ram about a month ago for BF2 to make 1.5 gigs of ram. Do not regret that decision.

But damn, that price is 10 dollars more than what I payed for it!!!!
