I need More POWER

and FYI...you don't need a HUGE PSU to overclock...

ive got my 2800+ athlon 64 (stock 1.8ghz) running at 2.4ghz with 1.55 volts pumping thru it stable all day long

on a 370w enermax noisetaker!

Why would you need a HUGE power supply to overclock?

What do you have now? A 500W with 45A on the +5V rail?

Need a stable PSU plus alot of power. I run an ati 9800 pro and an ati 9200 (pci) plus all the other stuff. I have a thermaltake 480 PSU now and the 3v seems to jump alot plus the Vcore changes some but not much.

That's your problem right there.

I have 350W power supplies with more juice on the 12V rail than the Thermaltake PurePower 480W.

The Thermaltake is not crap.. It's just poorly designed for anything made today. All of it's power is on the 5V rail, so it's "480W" rating is VERY deceiving.

You don't "need" a 600W power supply. You just need a better designed power supply.

OCZ's are very good, and you'd "get by" just fine with a PowerStream 420ADJ if you were interested in that product line.

and the number of serious overclockers that swear by PCP&C are legion

has something to do with almost no rail fluctuation and the lowest AC Ripple acriss all the mains you can buy (10mV)

of course after that OCZs are also berry berry popular
and generally more affordable

45A ON A SINGLE 12V RAIL?!?!?!?

Sick bastards! :p

Hey if you can't run with the big dogs............... :p

It was either that or the biggest POWMAX I could find....didn't know which way to go...overkill or just kill.

you forgot the Roadkill option :p

Yeah yeah yeah yeah.......I think I should never have said anything about that Foxconn(Deer) in that Dell :p

I didn't see Deer at the egg so I didn't include it :D

Quoted for truth, I really like mine.

Good one Spectre. I love it.

I'll go you one better. http://www.frozencpu.com/psu-153.html Newegg doesn't sell PCP&C so...
+3.3 Volt @ 30 Amps
+5.0 Volt @ 30 Amps
+12V1 Volt @ 17 Amps
+12V2 Volt @ 17 Amps
+12V3 Volt @ 17 Amps
+12V4 Volt @ 17 Amps
-12 Volt @ 0.8 Amps
+5 VSB @ 2.0 Amps
Peak Power: 950 Watts@45c

And this is the really sick part: +12V Combined Output: 54 Amps (62 Amps, 744 Watts, Peak)

Thanks. I almost posted that noe but 45 amps on one 12v just seemed more impressive for the purpose. :D
