Hi,
I just got myself a Westinghouse 27" LCD TV (27w7).
I love it so far... HD is great, and I got my computer running on it for the most part.
I'm having some problems, though, and I'm quite confused.
Originally I was trying DVI -> HDMI from my PC to the LCD... this works but I can't get the image to look exactly right... it just seems off somehow.
The colors seem a little more saturated and more importantly the text is very difficult to read... it seems distorted. This is running at 1280x720.
I tried other resolutions without much improvement... and what's strange is the native resolution of the LCD is 1366x768 and when I select that on my PC the screen looks strange and is very jittery and has artifacts... and usually I end up with a solid blue or green screen and am fored to reboot in safemode and fix the resolution.
I've since tried using the VGA input.
Using VGA I can select 1366x768 (it actually uses 1360, not 1366 and so I actually have very very very tiny (a few pixels in width) black bars on each side of the screen... not a big deal. The image itself is PERFECT. I mean, it's obviously not as clear as what DVI would produce, but the text is perfectly readable and the image just seems to be formatted perfect.
Here's what's really strange now.
If I select certain (apparently unsupported) resolutions, the colors actually get more saturated and I lose some image clarity again... almost like what happens when i try to use HDMI.
So my question is, how the heck do I get HDMI to work with this thing the same way VGA does? I want HDMI because I'm using this LCD a ton for PC and I will be watching all my DVDs through my PC DVD player and this is our living room TV so I want it to look as good as possible... especially since I'm paying for HDMI and unable to actually utilize it so far.
So, any idea why any of this stuff is happening and how I can fix it?
Thanks a ton.
(If it helps, I'm running an Nvidia 6800 GS)
