On my last thread I was asking what to buy 6600 ddr2 or x1600 pro . and I bought the powercolor X1600 pro 256 DDR II , its really a good card.
I have been with Nvidia for about 5 years so excuse me if that sound noob , the cards heatsink and fan is realy good but the cards ram is really and I mean really hot so is that normal ? and where I can find the tempreture monitor cause I can't find it in the control center.
one more thing I can't overclock the card , the ati tool dosn't recognize the core and memory speed and the card don't want to overclock by the riva tuner .so please help.
and sorry for the noob questions :(

This is the real differenc with Nvidia and Ati. There cards run at faster clocks and faster clocks mean more heat , also remember that its ddr2 your using and this means it has to work harder than ddr3 to get the same speed and this means heat.

The first version of the 6600gtXFX i had , had these heat sinks but in the next version which was made after 9 months didnt but the architecture on the new 6600 was better than the old one and it could do without them.It was ddr3 whilst the old one was introduced when 95% of the cards were ddr2 and because they all ran hot they thought they will need it on this one but later took them off.

The heat is not a problem , they run at the temps you are saying but that said dont overclock them , if you do use better cooling.

You can put two fans over them like i have over my overclocked XFX 7950 XXX , which was running at the temp. very much like yours and now they are running cool .
