Well, my p4 2.66 "B" will do 3 ghZ plus, but that's with an IDLE temp of over 60 degrees C. I don't dare find out what the load temps are at that, but at stock the load temps are around 65C... Keep in mind this is an ABit board (IS7-E), so it's a little high, but still, too hot for me.
Anyway, I have a nice crisp 100 dollar bill setting here from something I sold, so I'm wanting to buy some nice cooling. For 100 bucks, I could easily get an SP94 and some fans. I was thinking about getting an SP94, plus a fan adapter to attach a nice, high CFM 120MM fan to it. Then, get some nice LED case fans (about 5 of them, I have a Chieftec case). Should come out to a little under 100 bucks.
What do you think of that, do you think it would be a good idea to use a 120 MM fan via an adapter? Noise IS an issue for me, so with a 120 I could get a low-dB high-CFM fan and have the best of both worlds. Do you think getting it to fit would be a problem? I have a Chieftec case and an IS7-E, if it makes a difference.
Or, I could save up about 75 or 100 more dollars and get watercooling... But this is a lot more money for me (I'm a teenager, and I don't work, so...), so it would have to be worth it. Watercooling would probably not be THAT much cooler than good aircooling, or would it? Is it worth the extra money for, say, a budget kit (175 or 200 dollars) from danger den?
Sorry for the tons of questions...
Thanks
Edit: How far off are ABit's temp monitors, anyway?
Edit 2: I'm thinking about this fan: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-999-012&depa=0
Moves more air than a Vantec Tornado, and much quieter
