I need Firmware Dell 2001fp

Any one have this. I am using a BFG GeForce Ultra OC and am having blinking issues with the screen. There is an article in Maxium pc that tells me this is an issue with daul dvi cards.

Hey there, I have the exact same issue here!

I too have the BFG 6800 Ultra OC and I'm having the same blanking problem. It seems to be more prominent when there is a lot of white on screen, eg. when looking at the google webpage.

If you only have one LCD then you can simply plug the LCD into the other DVI port. The issue seems to be solely with the secondary DVI port for some reason.

Since I'm using dual 2001FPs, I see this issue on one display but not the other so I would be VERY greatful if anyone had any news on a fix for this :)
 
anyone find the firmware, grrr dont want to sit on hold for an hour.
 
do you have little lines going accros parts of the right side of your windows boxes. i do and this is my second card. its supose to be because of bad memory but i dont think it is. unless i got lucky with 2 cards. havent touched it with regards to oc'ing or volt changes.

I know see dell 2001fp under device manager when before it read plug and play. hope the drivers actually did something. cant get it to blink thus far.
 
OK, so i work for the government and am in charge of tech support for the field users. thats a long story short. so i called my local Dell rep to hook me up. hes going to get to the bottom of this and ill let all the peeps know. btw i have the artical from the july issue of maximumpc scanned and sent to the dell peeps. ill post it here when i get some serer issues figured out.
 
I could be wrong of course, but horizontal lines on the right side of windows boxes tends to be "screen door" effect. I'm kind of doubting it's your vid cards.

It's been an issue for some time now and is not fixable except for a replacment monitor

I had a similar problem with my 6800 ultra and 2001FP but when I switched DVI ports(the one closest to the screw/furthest away from the mobo) everything was fine
 
I went out and spent 100bucks on new dvi-d cable at ultimate electronics. ill keep you posted. so far so good, but only 5 minutes into it.

so the firmware was the fix? that means you didn't need to buy the $100 dvi-d cable?
 
im going to be taking that bad boy back. allbiet i havent tried the firmware upgrade. im at work right now

I bought a $25 dvi cable from newegg and dell reimbursed me...long story...

My 2001FP has only been hooked up to the dvi on my 9800 pro...I see very very slight screen door effect on my start menu...I don't notice it anywhere else...

Also the backlight isn't completely even but you can't notice unless the screen is blank/sleeping...

This magic file will update the firmware? I never knew you could update monitors like that.
 
I had the same issue with the BFG 6800 Ultra and a 2001FP with strange 'lines' out to the right of windows (most notably web browser windows). I even ended up trying two different motherboards with no luck.

I returned my first Ultra and got another and still had the same issues. I finally ended up backing down to a 6800GT and I have had no issues. I was also running a x800 Plat for a bit with no issues either, only happened on the 6800 Ultra.
 
Fiste, OMG me too. Exact same thing. I went threw 2 cards also. Also have those lines your talking about. I sent you the link for the dell fix. its on my server so be nice to me. check your mail.
 
Dell has a fix for that problem all the while they have taken back hundreds of monitors all with the same complaint?

Hard to believe all this. If that were the case they probably would not have pages and pages of refurbished 2001FPs.

Let us know how the “fix” turns out?

Sad to report guys/gals, the patch didnt work for me. Thinking I need to RMA the monitor. The patch is crazy goofy to install. Here is the article anyways.
