Is overfoldix the one?
I've got a 2.8Ghz P4 that I can run for several months while my daughter is in New Zealand, and if I can run it with a bootable cd she won't fret that I'm messing with the system I bought her.
Any suggestions?
Base OS is XP home, and she's out of touch for 3 weeks, and she's got the only password, so I'd like to get it fired up.

Hmmm, you could use a Linux Live cd... boot into that and then make a tiny partition for the Folding@Home folder and just run it like that, I think.

 
I think overclockix and overfoldix are your only two options for a live folding cd that. I have not used either of these but they have both been around a while.

If you have a small old HD around you could use Foldix. I think you could get by with a 200 meg without a problem. Disconnect your daughters HD and put the junker in it's place until she gets back. I have used it and it works great and is very simple. If it was around back when I had so many systems, it would have saved tons of time becasue it takes less than two minutes to install. To restate UM's warning, do not boot the CD in a computer with a drive that you care about the data on. It will be gone before you can blink.
 
I have a bartpe cd that i use. It is bartpe and the untimate windows boot cd with a folding plugin that folds from the windows temp directory.
 
chance also are that you can press ctrl-alt-del and login in as administrator (default password is blank) and then you can run using that account and then hide it from her :)
 
I have used overclockix as a live cd. And I know it has F@H on it. You'd just have to change the username and team id.

You can also run the console from a thumb drive on Windows. When it asks to install as a service, just say no. It will still run. And it will save the logs to the folder on the thumb drive.

I also put "Tray It" in the same folder on my thumb drive. Then I can drop it to the system tray.
