I need a suggestion PLEASE

OK, so I am planning to build a new system with something like this:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ to 3500+
Not quite sure what mobo but possibly ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
1 GB of Pc3200 RAM (maybe corsair or pqi)
120 Gb HDD with either 8 or 16 mb cache
dual layer dvd burner

This leads to my question of what would be a good powersupply and case for this machine. I want to spend no more than 150 if possible for this combination.

Thanks.

the graphic card(s) are one of the largest consumers of +12V power
and everything that spins also employ the +12V (read fans)

so...
there are several sticky threads with info that would allow you to get a head start and post a more detailed question

with things like secondary criteria
sound level, power quality, looks, upgrade path

the main question is are you going SLi or not
and do you want an SLi certified supply or just one that will do the job

Heres two scenarios that i might get:

1) Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD 3200+, 1 GB of Corsair PC3200, 1(or dual) 6600GTs,

I may get an ATI x800 thogh

2) DFI Lanparty Ultra-D, same everything else.

I want a PSU that can power this with no problems but still be in a price rang that I can afford (case + PSU about 100-130)

The only one I can think of as a combo is the Sonata. I have heard people say tha tthey are now shipping with Truepower II's as the PSU.......it would probably be you best bet for a combo. You will in all likelyhood want to reevaluate this decision and spend more on the PSU and case....and buy them seperate.

combinations are always problematic when building a monster
and make no mistake an SLi is a monster

I second that revaluation suggestion
and would recommend a certified SLi PSU purchased seperately
the TPII 550 is certified however

I just want an ATX case obviously and I would like it to look ok (not anything stupid looking) and not too expensive.

Ok how about a price point then? I mean give me something to work with.

I was thinking that if I had to get a $100 PSU then, if possible stay under 50 for the case.

Hey thanks but is there any case maybe with a window and a little less as I look back on my possible parts cost.

Well that same case is available with a window but it is a little more.

The problem with cases is they are so much personal preference. Look around at the Coolermasters, and the Antec's and see what you like.
