i need a new pc case... help.

i want to get a new case, but i don't know what to get...

i want something small, sleak, clean.... something that looks like the apple g5, kinda.... something light, since i'll have watercooling and i'll be carrying it to lan parties.... i don't want to pay a ton, though.

i don't want anything gawdy, retarded, or "xtreme/sick/ill/tight/etc" (i.e. anything that looks like this, this, this, or this)

i'd like something with the window on the right side of the case, if possible.

something like this, except less expensive and no cooling kit included
 
that case is way, way too big... nice, though.

something smaller, please.
 
anyone know the difference between the lian li pc-v1200 and the pc-v1000?

agreed. besides, i don't like the look too much. it's a little bland.

i really like the lian li v1000 series, though. i just don't know if i'd want to spend that much for a case...

i'll be watercooling an opteron 170, by the way, if anyone was curious. i just saw a review for the lian li v600 and the reviewer said that it was not a good case for overclocking or watercooling. didn't know if anyone knew if the v1000s were any different.

v1200 is compatible with extended ATX (eATX) motherboards.

In short, it's a few inches longer.

in other words, screw it and go with v1000 :)
 
I have the V1000 and I can attest that it is a very good case; I've overclocked in it without any heat problems. Actually, I might be selling it in favor of a V600 -- I like the more compact design.
 
I'm actually considering doing the same thing myself. I wish someone would do a review with actual temeratures. I've been looking for one today with no luck.

If you know of one or find one please post it.
 
that thing's all steel! imagine how much of a bastard it would be to carry that thing, especially when watercooled.

also, it doesn't open on the left side.

i went ahead and ordered the lian li v1000 with window...
 
aerocool masstige is a good case also and has everything u asked for
 
Yea the Masstige is a cool case, I like the Aero Engine but the Masstige has a ton of room for airflow and fans inside of it.

Being Lian-Li fan, I am really really loving that V600 case, but alas the damned thing is way out of my budget (at least until I get my school loans paid off) :(
 
I have a watercooled v1000 and a bag to carry the case, monitor and accessories. It's not that it's uncarryable, but it isn't fun after a couple hundred yards (the building I carry mine into twice month). That v600 aircooled is looking nice. Newegg lists it as steel. I don't know why.

if it was as roomy as the lian li v1000 and opened on the left, i would get it, regardless of its weight. however, seeing how it opens on the right, is not as roomy, and is far inferior to the lian li case, i'm gonna have to go with lian li.

the aerocool isn't bad, but it doesn't look nearly as nice as the v1000... plus, it's pretty huge.
 
Someone needs to get a foot in the door with Lian Li and review that damn V600. The one review that's out there is crap.

As much as I love Lian Li, the upper mobos are using heat pipes now. Lian Li is going to have to flip that mobo tray back over for us.

Myself, I Have Lian Li V600 Black Case. ITs rely nice and very well crafted aluminium case. But now I would choose her sister LianLi G50. Its Almost the same case, but has front panel without the perforation. Its easist to make PC silent and keep it without dust. The internal HDD cage from V600 fit into G50 well. So only majority issue is bad CPU coolink possibility.
But my opinion is that only air cooling is problematic. I disagree with review. The V600 has great potencial for watter coollink of CPU.
The case is longer that standart middle tower. So there is much room then in some clasic steel/plastics towers.
Only one thing is realy nessery - the modular power supply.

My Rig:
Old one ( I sold mobo and power supply,I will wate for new CPU from Intel Conroe and new ATI board with RD600 north bridge and 6xx South bridge. )

VGA ATI FireGl 5100
2x Optical Drive (DVD RW + DVD Rom) (HP Light scribe)

RAM 2 x 1Gb DDR 400 Mhz CL3 (HP OEM)
CPU AMD Athalon X2 3800+ (2Ghz) Non overclock due to limited CPU coolink capability)
CPU Cooler - I Try Artic Coolin 64 TC, HP OEM cooler from PC HP dx5150, SIlverstone TJ06 with fan from the bottom side.

I have a few pictures too.

My New Power Supply is Silverstone ST60F, I change fan to Nexus 12 cm black and white and turn :cool: it to suck the fresh air through the PSU from the outside of the case. The 12cm fans in the case i change to Nexus models too. I use some dump materials to lower noise and vibration.
Mobo I use board from my second PC mikroATX board MSI with RD482 NB and SB450.
I havet finished it yet.
