The last game I really played before I started my little break from gamming was BF2. I tried to play it last night and just couldn’t get back into it. I need something else to play probably not a FPS due to that’s what I had been playing a majority of the time. What are some good choices for a new game?:confused:
 
World in Conflict is a great game :D
also DiRT and SEGA Rally REVO are fun too

and if you havent yet GET ORANGE BOX!
 
Maybe give Portal a try. I thought it was a lot of fun. :D Along with Portal you get HL2, Ep1, Ep2, and TF2. All great games, IMO.
 
what types of games are you into?

I recently got The Witcher, (an RPG) only about an hour into it and it's realy well done.

If you've not played the HL2 series/dont own them the Orange box is a good choice as well; Portal is short but a ton of fun, (and new maps are being made/out I believe,) as well as TF2 a very unique take on your online FPS type game.

Before I took my break, I was mainly into FPS, but I want a different kind of experience from gaming. FPS have started to get old for me. Maybe after more time away from them it wont be as bad.
 
try to get an invite to the mythos beta, that game is very fun.
 
I've been having a blast with The Witcher. Very well done, some of the voice acting is meh... but still, very fun.
 
I need a break from shooters as well. Here are some different genres I can recommend:

Company of Heroes - RTS
The Witcher - RPG
Silent Hunter IV - Simulation
Gears of War - Shooter :p
 
World in Conflict is way better then CoH :p

WWII games have been done to death
 
A few years old, but for some RTS fun go with the Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War series. Same folks that did Company of Heroes. Mindless killing with Terminators and Dreadnoughts :)

Why not hit Fileplanet and download a few dozen demos of various games?
 
Some may laugh, but Starcraft. You didn't mention any preference on alternate genres, so the RTS genre would be a nice break from FPS.

Resident Evil 4 for PC. With the new patch it looks better than the GC version. Lost Planet may also be a choice. GH3 is coming out. You can also download frets on fire and use the guitar hero guitars with it. It is exactly like guitar hero but you can download user created songs. There are TONS of them.

Get Team Fortress 2 it will be the last game you ever buy. It is the best game ever made.

I dont understand how you could possibly say that, I played the beta of WIC and its just a incredibly hollow rts, the game does not even have building strategys for one (wich would be a good thing IF the micro in WiC was any good at all, and its not, its completly shit) So all WIC is, is smashing barely controllable units into eachother over and over agian.
on that note COH has the best micro of any RTS ive ever played.
