I need a Mboard, need help. I have a Xeon 3210 that needs a new board.
X3210
8800gts
550w truepower
2gb ddr2-5300, ecc(non-fbdimm) or regular ddr2-5300 have both

I'm looking for a P35 or better board, but will consider anything. Max is 100.00
Really want atx FF, I use wireless and with the dual slot Vga it would cook the wireless.

For a long time I have been very anti Asus. After many years of no issues the failure factor just plain got to me.

That was then, this is now. I recently had a mobo go south and about the same time got the good old NewEgg news litter all within an hour. So, I said what they hey, it's only a folding board and with low expectations I bought an Asus P5Q.

All I can say is WOW, extruded heatsinks on everything. Extra heavy duty MOSFETS in all the voltage regulation circuits and all solid caps. All this for just over $100.00.

After a week that board is now in this (my main box) machine and to say I'm impressed would be a huge understatement. My 2 year old Quad 6600 has never gone past 3.4 with out massive voltage increases and all the heat that goes with it.

On my first boot I took it to 3.7 just to see what would happen. Simply put, it works and all the onboard HS are COOL, NB and SB, no extra fans needed.

This thing has more bios tweaks then one can count, but, I used only 3. Set the CPU voltate to manual, set the FSB for manual and the third tweak was saving that combo after I found it to be stable.

It uses DDR-2 RAM, up to 16 gigs (64 bit os of course) and there is tons of room on the board to work. It uses the new Intel 40 chipset and comes with all drivers, monitoring programs and even a software OC utility what really works.

Yes, I'm impressed, no I don't work for Asus but it blows my Abit 35 pro away for a lot less money.

Give it a shot, I don't think you will be dissapointed in any way.;)

That sounds like a call for the "Super Deal Finder Crazy Larry" if there's a solution for us poor people out there, he'll know it. (I'm not implying you're poor gwarren007, I'm just sayin' I am :D)

Good luck gwarren007, a 8800GT and a X3210 cpu sounds like one good folding machine

FOLD ON!
