I have an achieve 500w psu and it is not powerful enough. This is what i have in my case so far and i might put more stuff in it. 4 harddrive, 10 leded fans, 2 cdrom, 1 floppy, high power video card, 2 ccfl, 2 fan controller, 4 bare leds, 4 led pegs, and i might add some more. If u can tell me wat psu will hand all of that stuff that would me great!!!!!!!!!

no no no for that price might as well get the best psu of ALL....the Pc Power and Cooling 510 Deluxe. Best power supply in the world. The vast majority of people agree. It is Intel's and AMD's top reccomendation. Look at the crazy amps on those lines...much more than the enermax's.

that should handle anything for the next x number of years.

the pc power and cooling won't even begin to FEEL the stuff in your machine...not even a load.

do u have one. plus i dont have that much money right now i am on a budget! Pluz wher can i get a Pc Power and Cooling really cheap

I see nothing you have that needs that. Im running my Vapo and a 80 watt pelt off my fortron 530, and i've slow ran all of it off a fortron PFC350 PS.

Watts dont matter, Quality does PCpowerand cooling is first in my book, Followed by fortron.

Antec and enermax are junk, cept for that big enermax, i havnt tried it so i wont say.

How do you know your power supply isn't powerful enough? LED's draw approximately zero current, and fans don't draw much. It doesn't seem like you should have a problem with a 500W PSU... unless it's really shitty and fluctuates aLOT under load.

I don't think that reliable high wattage PSU, budget and really cheap can be written in the same sentence. What you have now should pull what you have with ease, but if you are bound and determined to get another PSU, you can always get a lower wattage model and run a second PSU and split the load.

Check out the aspire 500w ones. about 55-59 shipped on newegg. Plenty of good reviews, just check google.

I had a great time with mine, even though I only used it 2 weeks. rock stable voltages, unlike my "premium xoxide" one ,,,though they gave it to me for 6 bucks because of a mixup they had.

Antec 430w will be plenty on that system, but I'd be tempted to go with the Enermax Noise Taker 350-400w with it's dual 12v rails.

300 watts, people forget is a lot of juice. 500 watt psu should be plenty if you filled all your power connectors with with led fans and such. Those dont pull that much. Even 500 is excessive.

If you're having problems with your psu, its far more likely one of your fans or leds are having issues.

No, his current PS happens to be a POS. I see it selling for $19-$29.

The temperature they're taking those readings at is probably the most important thing to look at. An Antec 550 for instance will put out a little under 400 watts of power under normal operating conditions.

I highly doubt the system you listed needs any more than 300 watts max of actual power. If it was a dual system with a gig or two of ram and an insane video card in it then you might very well need one of the larger supplies.

LEDs and fans won't use very much like others mentioned. If you have a pair of chips that are each taking 70-100W of power then you will probably need one of the larger supplies. Most people couldn't even come close to stressing a good 400watt PSU, which would be an Antec550 for example.

As for where to get a PC P&C the best place is probably directly off their website. There is free shipping on all PSUs if I remember correctly so take that into consideration. 300watt PC P&C supplies run about $70 with shipping included and they would be comparable to a lot of 400 watt supplies from other manufacturers so one of those should hold you over nicely. However if you want something that would be extremely excessive for that system as well as look really cool you can't go wrong with one of those 510 Deluxe supplies.

That's correct, led's typically consume about 20 milliamps, with hi- and superbright varieties using about 35 to 50 milliamps. So worrying about LED's is pointless, unless you run one of these:

I've got a PCP&C Turbo Coll 475, and let me tell you they kick serious ass.
Specs are in sig, and it goes down .01v under load (I've tested with a multimeter) Plus, you have the pots inside to tweak for maximum awesomeness.
It's worth the cash, although I would spring for the quie fan option, if you ask them to mod it they will. The stock fan is like a tornado.

 How do you even know that your meter is accurate to 0.01v? I'm not going to disagree with any of you and say that PCP&C makes bad PSUs. They don't. But I think that everyone around here is into PSU overkill. A nice 350w Fortron will easily and reliably power his system, while not costing a ton. Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Vantec, and all of the re-branded forms of those are perfect for this situation, and not overkill.

Come on people, get real

lol

get a good brand of PSU, like Antec or something. Any manufacturer can slap a 500watt sticker on the outside of the box.

This is scaring me. In the next 5-10 years, how many watts will PSU's be? 1500??? Are computers just going to need more and more power as the faster they get? And I thought my 486 heatsink (no fan) was hot
