I got an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe w/ some Mushkin DDR500. I need a processor to get the maximum overclock out of and get my ram running at DDR500, meaning I need at least a 50 MHz overclock on my FSB, assuming i began at 1:1. I just want whatever is the highest speed processor with which I will be able to overclock and get my ram running at its native DDR500, would a 2.6 be able to get my ram running at 500 on a 1:1? Is it possible to get like 3.6 out of a 2.4? Or would a 2.6 or 2.8 be better? Any help is appreciated..

depends on the processor...they're not all the same..some oc better than the rest, some don't do it well at all

I'd look for a processor in the forums and post an ad so you at least have some idea of what you're getting.

I know every processor differs, but for the msot part, there is an average of quality of overclocking, of course there are some that go very high and some that dont go at all hardly. How do 2.6C's normally go? Anyone had success with those? I'm leaning towards a 2.4C at this point, how is the quality of newegg's current batch?

ya but... i don't feel like frying my Mobo :/ No offense....
