i need a first person shooter thats more focused on online multiplayer...

something in the lines of counterstrike where u can just keep going back to.

i was thinking about TF2...
 
TF2 is awesome once you get into it...

I bought the orange box, for HL2 series, not thinking I was going to play/enjoy TF2, but it really turned out well...I'm pretty hooked now and that's the only game I've been playing since.

even purchased COD4, but haven't bothered install it yet cause all my free time is going towards TF2 :eek::mad::D
 
Consider Quake Wars... it has a learning curve, but once you get past it, it's easily the most immersive multiplayer game.
 
TF2.

Best multiplayer FPS in a long time. The community is much larger than quake wars. Honestly this game is so much fun! Its definitely a must have.
 
I'd say TF2, but right now pubbing is so broken. They still haven't fixed the scoring system or the chronic stalemates.

Since you're in it purely for the mp, I'd say Quake Wars would give you the most depth.
 
another vote here for Quake Wars MP.. deff worth playing / mastering... I've seen some scary good people appearing now...
 
If you want multiplayer you have to think ahead for, get Quake Wars.

If you want mindless shooting with tried and true game modes like CTF, get TF2.

honestly, you can't go wrong with either. but i'm partial to QW. though i have been playing TF2 a lot lately.
 
get TF2, half the stalemates are because no one wants to work as a team to push a point. 2 medic ubers with soldiers at the same time are enough to help push the team that is waiting behind them to the cap and stay alive long enough for the capture. Most people don't organize in pubs and its simply how it is I guess. It is still a fun game. Very different classes for almost all types of players which also works because it allows you to switch up depending on your mood. Not many other games give you that much variety with a good MP.
 
I personally think portal is brilliant. I know I know not a FPS but... its brilliant.

Why did you quit CS? Did you make it into any leagues?
 
Get the Orange Box. If you don't like TF2 you still have atleast 2 other games to fall back on.
