I needed to add another case fan to lower the temps just a bit.. I got a 120mm case fan that flows like 65CFM. While I was at it, I got a green neon light, and a piece of plexiglass. I was dremeling it all damn day, and finally got it.. Looks pretty hot, better in person though! It looks a little dirty in the pics.

The top two pics are how it looked in the morning, the bottom three are it now.

My system specs are:

P4 2.4ghz overclocked to 3.2ghz
Asus P4PE motherboard
512mb PC2700
ATI 9600XT 128mb vid card
CD/R
DVD/R
100gb HD

I'm ordering up some round IDE cables, and wire looms to tidy it up a bit. Looks a little cluttered!

Looks very clean, gj. Now just paint that case black/green and you got yourself a sick looking pc.

pimping the electrical tape molding, i did the same thing on my server's case :) i like the mod alot, keep up the nice work

Was it difficult to cut through the plexiglass? I'm thinking about cutting a fan hole in one of my windows but I'm a little afraid of cracking the acrylic...

Nice mod btw :).

Thanks guys, I still got some work to do on it.. And I never thought of painting the case black or green.. Hmmm..

And yes, the electric tape molding came out suprisingly well!! If you take your time, and use a razor for the cuts, it comes out very clean. I was happy..

Cutting through plexiglass - 437 times easier than cutting through the steel case!!!!

I just used a small drill bit on the dremel, drilled a hole, and just pulled it across the plexi to slice right through it. Then used a sanding stone on the dremel to even the rough edges, then a buffing tip on it to smooth it out. Pretty easy, but easy to eat too much out and mess up too.

Whoa, I have almost the same case- the front bezel is different though. Same side panel. Same CD-RW too.

Nice job. That looks really good. Just paint the case and a bit of wire management.

Way to go man! Nice job. Having reciently finished my first window I know the satisfction. Good job. Makes me want to make my window bigger so I can fit a fan like that!

That's hot

Green looks awesome in there, and I bet now we'll see more green CCFL's after seeing yours ;)

That case would look sweet with a nice paintjob... that front grill at the bottom there is NICE, kind of like an exotic sportscar almost!!! I'd seriously think about getting some vinyl dye (paint) and really doing the rest of your case up :)

Paint the case black, then pop a few Green LEDs in the front bezel and replace that black case fan with a Green LED fan. ;) You've got yourself a great rig there. :D

Ohhh MAN. You guys are making me think..

All black, with green lights.. MMmmMMmm..

Dam you guys!

What's the best paint to use to paint the case? It's a steel case..

And I got a few more case fans on their way, but none green. Anyway to incorporate LED's into the fans?

Tehre's a cogan fair this weekend, i'm going to go crazy. I need a fan controller for sure.

Thanks for polluting my brain!

cool, i live in ct too. i think i might go to the cogan fair, i havnt been in a while

yeesh. to paint metal you gotta sand sand sand, then prime, then paint paint paint, sand a little, paint more, sand a little, etc etc until you get it really fucking nice and smooth. and THEN possibly gloss coat, if youre into that kind of thing.

as for the plastic parts just grab a can of black vinyl dye and mist it on layer by layer.

hmm, sounds liek it may be more trouble than it's worth.

Just sand the metal down to a somewhat rough surface then paint. Before your last coat, use some fine sandpaper and smoothe the paint itself out, then put your last coat on. That's my method of painting. It's worked for me, but I'm sure a lot of people here will disagree with me. :p

Well, it's not much trouble. For a case that size, it will take MAYBE an hour each day for a period of a week. The thing is, if you rush the job, it will look like ass.

i don't get why everyone says painting a case is such hard work:confused:

i just bought 2 cans of red rustoleum, sanded my case a bit to get some of the old paint off, and then painted. i did 2-3 coats over everything. the only hard part was keeping the damned dirt and bugs off long enough for it to dry.

Thanks for the compliments on the case guys! Sorry to bring this thread back - I added round IDE cables, a bigger side fan, and tried to tidy up the PS cables a bit. The problem with them though is the fact that the cables are too short to really be able to hide them well. I'm also thinking that with all this new stuff I'm adding int he case, I may need to get a better PS soon. I am running on the one that came with the case. Think it's 300w, but can't remember. How will I know if I need another one?

I have two HD's, a DVD burner, CD burner, fan controller, CC light, and a total of 4 fans, soon to be 6 fans when my new HS comes in. Whattya think?

On with the pics:

mycase223-1.jpg

See that rat's nest? That's about the best I can do.. Those wires coming to the right are off the Dig Doc 5+ fan controller (selling).

mycase223-2.jpg

Light on with the lights on

mycase223-3.jpg

Light on with the lights off

The new side fan! It's suprisingly quiet, but really hauls air!

Any ideas/comments?

Nice work, but I think you could do better with the wiring, do you know what zipties are? A little patience and creativity will do the trick... look close at other people's rigs and you'll see little tricks.

The rig still looks great and very original, I enjoyed the update... That fan is sexay ;)

Yah, that fan is bitchin! Along the wireing front, check out the cleanup I did on my daughter's case in this thread. Just about 5 minuts and some zipties is all ya need. :)

that case looks 100% better than it did, but u need to Paint that sucker now.... Good start :D

I have pretty much modded all my cases I have ever had..... Its just more fun that buying Pre-Modded to me. :D

See my Stuff Here

Ok, i guess I'll get on it again when I get home from work!

And I have hundreds of zip ties... That's it, i'm not going to sleep tonight till it looks better.

Shinare - nice work on your daughter's PC (almost said box:eek:). How'd she like it?

She flipped out, hugged me, said she loved it, and it looks fantastic and how happy she was, said I was the greatest, etc etc etc... Pretty much a red letter day for any dad. ;) Infact I think she flipped out more this time then she did when I actually built her the computer... wierd. *chuckle*

Resurrecting this thread once more :D

I took off the ghetto electric tape holding my window in, and got a couple feet of green vinyl. (can you tell my fav color?!) I also used that same green vinyl to cover the plate on my fan controller to make it match...

Looks 581% better IMO.

I also got an Arctic VGA cooler to go on my 9800pro. Thing is hyooj.

Dude, that's a great case. I think I'm going to paint my case green, or at least the blue parts of it green. I really like what you've done with it, though. ;)

Edited by request. :)

Was it necessary to quote all his pictures? lol

I liked it better when the green was just on the inside... now you got beige, green and some kind of aqua now, plus the blue LED knobs... I dunno dude

I hear ya. I'm going to be modding the fan controller LED's to green, and i'm thinking of making those two blue 'columns' on the front the same color green..

I don't know. I keep coming up with weird ideas.
