Sorry, I am not sure how to paste pictures into a post, so I just copied the graph the old fashioned way.

Its soon going to be +10K PpD just to be in the top 20 ........

Keep up the good work and fold [H]arder.

Luck .............. :D

Well, that was short lived......

Stats still has to catch up. I'm pushing 10-12k depending on what WU mix I've got.... so I should pop back up.

Ha! It's my turn.....

Relic It's all your fault!

Yeah, that's a big push in production compared to last year. I guess the tax return period is very productive for our team ;)

Yes, Indeed, put to good use.
Too bad we couldn't write off a bit
as a charitable contribution :)
hmmm must be a way ...

Congrats Kendrak, now fold [H]arder and stay in that top 20!:p

Ahhh, the daily averages are finicky beasts :) Especially when a 1 second 'power outage' messes up half your boxen until you get home from work.

Congrats btw :)

The top 20 is not what it was a few months ago. There's some tenacious fighting going on there. Heck, I dropped out for a day or two last week when my production plummeted briefly. Congrats on a short but notable appearance. That accomplishment alone merits honorable mention. :)

Well this wednesday I should officially join the 17k PPD club!!!

I am running 11768 + 900 PS3 = 12,668, plus another 4.4k (assuming the Q6600 I am additing hits 3.6Ghz like my other one)

And Charlie_D Invest in some UPSs its worth it.. I have 10min or more right now of outage without any impact. My DSL, Routers, computers, PS3 are all on UPSs now.

I'm hot on your tail Kendrak! :) Fold [H]arder!

How long do you suppose a UPS can keep all your hardware running at 100% load? It's just a battery after all. I'm skeptical they're worth the investment for folding alone. If you have other concerns, it's a different matter altogether.

I bought 3 1500va/900w units and I'm not even close to 1/3 capacity. Ever since I blew the power once by turning an iron on in the same circuit I learned quickly what 10 minutes of bringing up machines and the 2 or 3 lost WU's...

They ran 102 shipped each.. well worth it... plus they offer Wattage readings, double as surge and voltage regulation so any peaks or valleys are smoothed out now. Great piece of mind let me tell ya! I feel like I have a mini data center. Raised Floors, Fire Supression, Thermal monitoring, UPSs, lol all on a very remedial level but still its cool.

I have a UPS but I took it offline due to issues I was experiencing with it. Every couple of weeks the alarm would sound off for no apparent reason and cut power to all the hardware attached to it. Very annoying to say the least. The additional space requirements and cable mess didn't make it a very attractive piece of equipment either. When my systems shut down unintentionally, I rarely lose a WU, so just to have the UPS installed for folding alone wasn't worth the extra trouble it was giving me.

I guess it also depends on what type of hardware and the amount of systems you have. I can't conceive of how many UPS units I would require to keep my entire farm running for an appreciable amount of time. It would cost a fortune to invest in that kind of failsafe security. All my systems except one are multi-socketed servers. Moreover, I have surge protectors on the more critical systems so a UPS for that purpose would be excessive and superfluous in my setup.

Your UPS units are far superior to the one I purchased; everybody's needs are different. I like your setup a lot, don't get me wrong. It has strong aesthetic appeal and great functional value for your farm. I wish I could afford/configure a comparable security subsystem, but it's not feasible for me at this time.

Heh, my UPS choked when I put my quad running VMWare and two diskless folding VMs up to 3.2GHz. Ahh well, it was free and it is pretty old, so I won't complain. I tried Windows SMP clients for a while (since they don't lose their progress when interupted) but they were significantly slower, so much so that I decided to go back to diskless VMs and I try to take a snapshot of the VM when it gets near 50% or so just so I have a backup of sorts.

That actually saved my ass last night when all the power went off in Savannah. I was able to get up the next morning and start off one of the VMs at 54% :)

Oh, and Kendrak, Welcome to the top 20 :) Let's hope we stay awhile.

I have no doubt that Evil will bump me down a notch but..... :D

Its a tough crowd let me tell you. Just a loss of 1 to 2 hrs of time took me off that list on Saturday!!! Man... you really do need to have a mini data center to hang in this crowd...

That power out put me WAY down on the list. I won't be surprised if I fall off for a few days :(

Count yourself lucky since at the same time last year, having 10k production mean a farm of C2D boxes at a minimum with no quads (they are too expensive back them before the july 22nd price cut). I managed to get into the 10k area by borging the lab and configuring my pc at home to generate 2000-3000 PPD and the most popular WU back then is 2610 ones with a hit in PPD if you have less than 4 Mb of cache...

You people are vicious!

I can't stay in the top 20 for 2 back to back days!

Awesome Folding all!!!!

I'm going to try and sneak in a couple Q6600s under the radar so I can replace the two C2D i have with C2Qs, should put me up over 10kppd :D

Have to see how that goes, we need a 2nd car first...

Another one!!! ahhhhhh!

:p

I would be over 10k now, think my dad messed up the borg of his C2D that I did, and my brother in-law forgets to start F@H on his ps3 :D

Besides I want to keep you guys behind me, thats the point isn't it :p

I'll give you guys a break and probably lose a slot or two in the top 20. Been messing with a couple of my units, and want to get some kinks worked out before I get them up to full production again.

Did some lapping on one of the quads, and it has help *some*, but I haven't stressed it out under two SMP's yet.

Looks like its going to be a fight to get back in the 20 club if I fall out, though. ;)

A year ago you could get in the top 20 with 5K ppd. 6,000 would get you a number 15 slot. Times have really changed.

Tell me about it. I'm not that far from the 15k PPD mark and still cannot secure the #10 position. Sometimes I'm in the top 10, sometimes I drop down depending what WUs my systems receive or problems I encounter day to day. It's not easy by any measure. A few months ago I was in the top 5 for a while. Times indeed have changed.
