I just got one of these to review and its the best mouse I have ever put my hand on. Anyone else using one of these?

Yeah, and im loving it, though i think im using it in less than ideal conditions.

i dont have a mousepad at the moment (ordered one, gotta wait), and im using it through a kvm switch and windows doesnt want to install the drivers for it correctly, though from what i've read that may be a good thing

So far I have had no problem with the drivers, they actually work really well. I am currently using a standard mouse pad as well but I would like to get a gaming one.

Love mine. Wish the blue version was available, but this red looks damn good too.

I got the blue one from Logitech :D should have the review posted next week at OCModShop

I just bought one to replace my MS Explorer 3.0. It is noticably smother. THis is the best mouse I have ever used. I just ordered a func surface 1030 mousepad from newegg and it should be here tommarrow. Then I will be in mouse heaven!

Yup, yup. I have the MX700 and it's the same shape with a slightly lower res optical sensor and it has worked wonderfully well for me. So imo, since the MX510 is so similar, it gets the thumbs up also.

The blue version is on the shelf at my university (Oregon State). I haven't seen them in stores though.

Is it worth it to upgrade to a 510 from a 500?

If you have the cash to spare, sure why not? But if you don't have cash to blow, its not really worth it.

do what i think one of the kids on this board did. buy the mx510, gut it and put the mx500 stuff in it and switch the mice up to return it. and bam new mouse with better sensitivity.

I have done some questionable things in the past... but that is just plain wrong.

I would suggest you buy the mouse from a store with a good return policy, try it, and if you like it, keep it. If not return it. That is NOT immoral. That is their return policy! (and you pay for it in the price).

i never said it was right, i just said someone i know has done it, even though i guess it came off that way. anyway i have the mouse and it does kick ass and the look and feel is just awesome. i wanna get one for my office now, but i refuse to pay for anything that has to do with or for work.

I hear ya there... and I wasn't calling your character into question. Just my opinion on what you said.

About the work thing... I hear ya. I don't work in IT, so I use a computer to only write reports or memos. Hell, my machine at work (that I built 4 years ago) is a P166 with no scroll mouse. I don't care... it works. :)

I come home to a good machine.

I ordered my blue one Friday and it's on the way. Should get here.on the 24th. Can't wait to try it out. :D

The CompUSA stores in my area recently got the blue 510's in stock. It turned out to be pretty handy when my mx500 met an unfortunate end after a late night of gaming...

What would you guys like to see in a review of a mouse as far as testing?

I have 3 of these (yes I know im a whore) 2 reds and a blue. bought the blue at my local microcenter.

love them to death.
