damned shipping. I guess that's what happens when you order weird parts from 3 different places. The rest I can get at Lowes, except for the fan. Anyone got an idea for a super-quiet high-rpm 12cm fan?

Later on I'll probably need some stuff like filters, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I hope I didn't pay too much or mismatch sizes or mix aluminum and copper. *crosses fingers

BTW, Hi.

well, that pump is alright for 12v but compared to other much much cheaper and powerful 120v pumps you got ripped off.

you also got SCREWED on shipping. my whole wc system from dangerden was under $10 for shipping, thats block, heatercore, shroud, tubing, clamps, waterwetter.

where the hell does he live that the tax is nearly 10%? if it really is that much he wouldve been much better off getting it from a different place than wherever he did

He's right, that does include tax. Also, the shipping was a bit high because I ordered it from 3 different places. They tend to charge less when you buy lots of stuff. I think it came out to $14 for the whole thing, but I'd have to check.

CA tax is roughly 8 cents on the dollar.

Yeah, I thought about that. But for portability reasons it would be nice to have it all self-contained. I didn't really want to get an inverter too, you know?

edit: of course, if you can convince me otherwise i could always cancel that order...

8%? Lucky you! Here, you have to pay a 15% tax, and 22% in newfoundland. And if you order directly from the States, not only you still have to pay the 15%, but also the customs, so you have to pay like a $100, if you bought something worth $250.

that what i feared. CA sucks :p

newegg charges tax for the likes of kronchex and i.

thats why i have my fellows in brooklyn take the delivery.
they take my newegg and i take their frozencpu and cooltechnica orders.

i'm a tax-evader, i know.

Ok, so maybe i'll cancel the radiator and the pump. I've seen some suggestions on heatercores, but what about pumps?

For that price it is certainly worth a try. Not to mention they probally have a nice return policy. It's hard to tell much about a rad simply by looking at a pic of it. If you know someone who has used one ask them. The one problem with it is you may have a little bit of a fight getting yer hoses clamped on to it.

The guy said that he was using it for his WC setup. As for the hoses, he said he put the ends in hot water so he could push them over, then used hose clamps to secure it.

edit: it's for an '86 chevette. i gather those are rather popular.

Thats why I buy things for people in canada then send it to them USPS Airmail, no customs involved and no tax.

Well, I have used bother Eheim and Hydor pumps and prefer the Swifty to both. It's smaller, has better shielding(no interference with monitors) and requiers no additional switching or wiring to add in. Performance wise it is easily as good as my 1250 was. My2c...

Looks like a great setup.

Don't listen to kronchev, the MCP600 is an awesome pump, I'm getting one this summer to replace my Mag 5.
