I have the worst speaker luck ever

Ok.... a couple weeks ago i got the logitech z-680s.... they broke after 2 hours due to cheapo components. got my brand new PM ultra 5.1s a couple days later but they got toasted by lighting (while off and plugged into a UPS backup supply, mind you), then i got my new set (working fine so far) however the add-on sub i bought no longer turns off when i flip the power switch, nothing happens. so now i have to take that back for a refund as well. on the bringt side im getting a 12" MTX sub for my computer tomorrow

wow, sucks for that sub... it'll be toast within the week seriously, hope you have better luck. how do those sound? for $3-400 it better be good... if those don't work out, get some insurance on the next set...

the PM ultras are about $350 and they rock, but i prefer the punch of an addon sub. the MTX is $180 or so. its $100 on ebay but i dont trust ebay for stuff like that. should be sweet, i'll keep you posted on the results.

Nice. Got the Ultras myself and have been considering dropping the extra $100 for that SWS sub. How much does it add to the sound? And they are totally shielded, right, so you can put them anywhere?

well unfortunately klipsch doesnt make the SWS sub anymore, but they did cost $150. However, you can get a sweet 12" MTX from circuit city:

With the SWS link on the PMU 5.1 you can pretty much connect any home audio sub with a single connection. Hope this helps!

ok i finally got the MTX sub. it is awesome!!!! it plays deep and loud, but i had to play with the audigy settings on my computer to get it to sound right. its almost about twice the size of the klipsch sub, but working in unisom its cool!
