I have been bought (ie. I didn't choose it myself) a brand new monitor since my trusty 30" Shimian has died after 2 years of almost 24/7 usage. The monitor they have chosen for me is a "Samsung U28D590", specifically this one at this link...

I can't seem to locate any genuine information about this particular display from Samsung, what I can seem to find is that it runs at 60hz at 'native resolution' but I can't find any solid information on what resolution this display actually runs at, the ebay listing shows 4k - 3840 x 2160 but I didn't think that was possible at 28" or even at 60hz unless they are doing some fancy downscaling thing and this actually just runs at 2560x1440 or 1920x1200
