from recent deals.... I got a ati 9800 pro 128mb

from what I have seen...my games are so skippy/choppy as heck.......and I don't think it is because of the refresh rate...

whats going on....

it is so skippy...

and at times freeze for less than a sec...and so on...

my specs are

1600+ Amd t-bird + asus a7v33
512 pc2700 samsung ram
160 wd Se
sound blastor live 5.1 plati
I mean everything looks better..... but it is skippy..

i tried the 4.2 and 4.3 ati driver and messed with the ati patch for refreshrate... I also messed with the omega driver....but it is all the same... I also tried to ddc override refreshrate..it is the same still...

getting frustrated...

Oh yeah I used the det killer/destroyer already

btw.. I just installed the newest 4-1 via driver...samething... updating bio....

and it is the same ...still and...

btw I have 550 watt... antec..

some people suggested...turn off vga recovery.. and turn off fast write and also.... turn up agp volt.... and also increase the cach memory in the bio for agp or something... and it is still the same...

tried everything and now doing directx 9.0b reinstall...and still the same!!!!!!

help!!

I had a 9700 Pro with that motherboard, never could get it working right. Just had to break down and get an NForce2.

are you serious with that????

ugh...so my decision now... is...

buy new mb/s with faster proc....or return the card...and charge with restocking fee...

hmm...

Just on the off chance take out your soundblaster card then give it a go?As i have seen and read alot about soundblaster cards conflicting with Radeon's;) Worth a shot!

yeah, but that was just my experience. I had crashing and stability issues with it that I could never cure. I put that via board in another system with a GeForce3 and it's rock solid.
