i am talking about the latest mac mini, 4gb of ram (clued to it).

i recently bought a 4k monitor that i use with my pc.

i heard that the mac mini works on 4k using 30hz refresh rate with the hdmi input.

my question is, what if i use the display port in the mac mini, to my 4k moitor display port. will it work at 60hz?

i am waiting for you guys answer to it so i can purchase it!

From the Apple web site.
HDMI video output
Support for 1080p resolution at up to 60Hz
Support for 3840-by-2160 resolution at 30Hz
Support for 4096-by-2160 resolution at 24Hz

Two Thunderbolt 2 ports (up to 20 Gbps)
Four USB 3 ports (up to 5 Gbps)
HDMI port

That's great, but you repeated the information he already had. He specifically wanted information on Thunderbolt output.

However, I don't have good news for you if you're looking for 60Hz. It's still limited to 30Hz over Thunderbolt 2. More than likely an limitation of the graphics card (Iris 5100) as opposed to Apple's other offerings with discreet GPUs or at least Intel Iris Pro graphics cards.

I have the 2012 Mini and I am using Thunderbolt to run at 3440x1440. I can run it at 50Hz (PAL) comfortably.

At 60Hz I get weird multicolor lines (artifacts) on the screen.

It's not 4K obviously, but it's close and the Mini I have can barely support it.
