I Have A New Problem! (Sudden Temp Drop...?)

Alright, earlier today my temps were reported at a constant 36/40 C idle for both cores (respectively).

About 2 hours ago, I went into my bios, disabled speedstep, and changed the fan settings so that my motherboard wouldn't control them (in other words, I let my fans do what they're supposed to).

Went into windows, no change. The motherboard was reading faster fan speeds, but no temp changes.

I restarted again after awhile, and BAM, 32/35C, reduction of about 5 deg. on each core.

So, I think -- well, that's odd... I go into my bios, try changing everything back (motherboard control fans, speedstep on, etc...)
and its STILL at 32/35C.

I hope I didn't accidentally change something important?

The room's temperature has stayed the same, by the way.

Finally, do you guys reccomend having my MB control my case/processor fan (there's little to no sound difference)?
Also, should I keep speedstep on or off?

Thanks guys, sorry for all the trouble.

temp drop is not usually a problem. makes sure that your cpu is runing at the same speed as it was, vcore the same, etc. i have a fan controller so i dont use the bios stuff.
