i have 1024 megs or ram, only 896 shows up in system properties?

this is on my computer at work. shouldn't it say 1024 in system properties?

and why does it only say 985 mhz, shouldn't it be like 2xxx ghz?

as for the ram, you might have an integrated gfx card on your mb that is taking system memory and using it as gfx memory.

as for CPU speed, it might just be set up wrong in your bios.

There also might be some clock-throttling involved as well. The CPU might be reeled back from full speed when it's not needed.

The 1ghz speed shows that cool n quiet is kicking in. There's a utility on the amd website to show the clock speed in real time. Get that, then do a prime95 test or fold to see it shoot up to the expected level.

About the 'missing' ram - it's being used by your video card. Looks like it's set to use 128MB of system ram.
